Welcome to the first sustainability festival at JANUN Göttingen

In the midst of our green oasis of the edible forest garden in Grone, we invite you to experience a weekend full of nature, communal exchange, and joy in sustainable living. From June 27 to 29, you can discover with us the diversity of our projects and the plant and animal inhabitants of the forest garden, participate in inspiring workshops, and gain new perspectives on sustainable coexistence. We want to do woodworking with you, observe nature and capture it artistically, pick and prepare our own food, and of course celebrate together. Enjoy unforgettable moments under the open sky and take the opportunity to stay right on the grounds in your own tent. You can join for any number of workshops or just come to celebrate.

Together we will create a festival of sustainability that connects, encourages, and inspires. We look forward to your participation!

Registration

You can find the registration form here and at the bottom of this page. You can sign up for either individual days or the entire weekend. Please indicate which workshops you would like to attend so that we can obtain sufficient materials. For the children's program, you can find the registration here. Please note that children under the age of 6 can only participate in the company of an older sibling or an adult.

Attendance at the festival is free. If you still want to support us financially, you can make a donation to:

Overnight Stay

During the registration process, we will also ask if you would like to camp in the garden. We have a large meadow where you can pitch your tents, as well as compost toilets. On the day of arrival, we will build an outdoor shower (with your help), so you can refresh yourself after a long day. Please make sure your soap is biodegradable; we will also provide Aleppo olive soap in the shower.

Your catering is taken care of: we are working both with our local foodsharing organization and the Junge Tafel. A vegan/vegetarian diet is important to us (and, without a refrigerator in summer, also more hygienically safe); if we buy additional groceries, we make sure they are grown regionally and organically whenever possible. Some of the food will come from our own garden, which is right next to the forest garden. Here too, everything is grown organically.

We will be cooking over a biochar grill, have a pizza oven available, and can make a campfire in the evenings.

If you have any food intolerances, please let us know. If you are gluten-intolerant, it would be great if you could bring your own bread.

Arrival/Departure, Location

The official arrival and opening of the camping area is on Friday from 3 pm onwards. Of course, you are welcome to come earlier and join the wood workshop starting at 11 am.

The site can be reached from the train station by bus via the “Ithweg” bus stop.

Bicycles can be parked on the premises.

If you are coming by car, please note that we do not have parking available on site. You can park in the adjacent residential area.
